Maddie Johnson co-owner

From a young age Maddie has always shown a keen interest in working and training dogs. At age 14, after a lifetime of begging, her family finally agreed for her to get a dog of her own; a Border Collie called Muffin. After getting Muffin, Maddie instantly fell in love with dog training. She spent every afternoon training her and teaching her new skills and tricks. As a team, they dabbled in many different dog sports, most notable competing at a national level in Agility.

Maddie’s passion for dog training developed into a career after she acquired her Certificate III in Dog Training and Behaviour, and at age 16, she commenced working professionally as a Dog Trainer. In 2015 Maddie’s journey began with Every Dog where she started teaching classes and taking behaviour consultations. In 2019, alongside Aidan and Ingrid, she became a company owner at Every Dog.

Maddie has a keen interest in dog reactivity and has experience with a large range of different dogs, including those with serious behaviour issues. She also has a passion for working with dogs with disabilities and has fostered numerous dogs who are deaf, blind, or a combination of both. Her own Border Collie, Queenie, was born deaf. Together they advocate for dogs with disabilities and prove how talented and trainable they can be! Queenie and Maddie have trialed in Rally-O, Trick Dog, and have made appearances on the radio, ABC NEWS, The Mercury, and other media outlets.
