Description

This class is for dogs who are able to be around small groups of dogs, with distance. The aim is for relaxed behaviours and to build confidence around other dogs.

We spend each week getting closer and closer to the other dogs in the class, until we could all eat out at a cafe together.

Before booking your classes, you will need to buy a prepaid package of credits. You will have 7 weeks to use your six classes. You can purchase your prepaid package here.

This is a special class for dogs who have attended at least 4 group classes or 2 private lessons with Every Dog previously. This class is suitable for reactive dogs but if you're unsure your dog is ready please Send us an email to find out.

Is this class suitable for reactive dogs?

In short, yes, it will be suitable for many reactive dogs and you should contact us by email to see if your dog would benefit. We will be able to set most reactive dogs up for success in this class.

What will my dog learn?

The aim for this class is to promote relaxed behaviours around triggers. Dogs learn to relax on a mat, getting progressively closer to each other until they could all be sitting at a cafe together.

Do I need to bring my own mat?

We can provide mats but it is helpful for you to have your own.

Do I leave my dog in the car at the start?

Yes, like all our classes, dogs start out left in the car so we can bring them inside in a controlled manner to set them up for success.

  • Your dog. Your dog will be staying in the car alone for a few minutes at the start and end of class. To plan for this you may want to bring your dog's crate for them to relax in, or a white sheet to put over your car and keep it cool if it's a sunny day.

  • A mat if you have one (not mandatory).
  • A plain flat lead, preferably 180cm or more. No Flexi-Leads or Bungee-Leads please. Black Dog leads are available for purchase in our store.

  • A flat collar or a comfortable harness.

  • Approximately 200g of soft, highly palatable treats diced into small pieces (~5mm cubes on average, some dogs may require smaller or larger treats). We use and recommend Prime 100 in the flavours: Turkey & Flaxseed (suitable puppy diet), Kangaroo & Pumpkin, or Salmon & Tapioca. We recommend these as they are healthy, palatable, and easy to dice without being squishy or crumbly. Some dogs may prefer other foods though such as cooked chicken or cheese. We stock ready to use bags of diced prime 100 in our fridge for $5.
